GertieBeth

Name: Gertrude Elizabeth Frostworks Frisby “GertieBeth”
Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Age: 1996-2007
Favorites: Car rides, digging in the dirt, going for walks, sleeping under blankets and beds, hot dogs.

Gertie was a “fluffy” (a cosmetic coat flaw in the breed featuring longer, thicker coats and exaggerated feathering on the ears and backs of legs) and a cute one at that. She looked like a little bear cub and did not shed. We got her from the Frostworks kennel in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Her bloodline included the famed Wisconsin Rapids kennel Busy B’s. We had 11 wonderful years with her until she was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy by the Veterinary Medical Center of the University of Minnesota. Degenerative myelopathy (DM) is a progressive disease of the spinal cord which results in eventual paralysis. Gertie lived for 6 more great, pain free, months after her diagnoses. She was a wonderful, happy girl and we continue to cherish her memory.
